how do I check integrity of a 64-bit disk on a 32-bit system

I'm planning to upgrade my 32-bit system to 64 and want to plug in the OS as soon as I get it home. I downloaded the 64 bit version, (md5sum checked out) and burned the cd, & I want to make sure the burn went ok.
So where do I find the utility and associated files which all the cool kids already know about?
