How Do I Install My Network Card ?

well i intalled ubuntu 6.10 and i'd like to know how i get it to read my network card

Why didn't you install the latest version (Feisty 7.04) ?

What kind of network card is it ?
 - a wireless card ?
 - a ethernet card ?

what is the output of this command in a terminal:
lspci

What kind of connections do you see in System->Administration->Network ?

you normally dont need to install anything. If you go into System>Admin>Networking. It should appear and you should be able to configure and use it immeidiatly.
