wher is the popping noise coming from the speakers??? is your gsm phone too close to the computer? is there popcorn in the computer.

Please open the menu System→Preferences→Sound click on the [Sound Effects] tab

and then Put the Sound Theme to "no sounds"

Same problem. I've just upgraded and its there's a constant popping sound, even with earphones put in.
