Fan constantly spinning very fast [Acer 6920 - notebook]

On my Acer 6920 laptop after installing karmic today my fan seems to run at very high speeds at all times

I have heard it go from full speed to what sounds like 3/4 speed but it does not seem to go any lower

I installed GKrellM and it could not find any fan speed sensors but it was able to tell me my CPU was at a very reasonable temp

I tried changing the CPU frequency with the applet but it did not change the fan

Although on 9.04 I never had this problem neither on Windows Vista or 7

Is there anything I should try to do and is there any other information needed?

You can install the sensors-applet package, which can tell you all about the fan speed and temperatures and why it's like that.
1. Install sensors-applet
2. Run sensors-detect
3. Add the Hardware Sensors Monitor GNOME panel applet.

Sorry that has not solved my question I can now see all the temperatures and yes my GPU is hot at 60 and my CPU is 59 degrees celsius is that what is causing the fan to run full time?

And how can I get the fan to run like it used to, silently and not always at full blast

Can you help with this problem?
