Closing Out Unexpectedly

Asked by Robert

I was trying to download some things using programs that i needed such as Wine. While I was installing the things that I wanted, everything closed out and it restarted it self. It did this again when I tried downloading it again. When I sign back, there is nothing running and I have to start all the way over, can someone help me please.

Hello,

I cannot understand your question.

What were you trying to download ? Using which program ? What closed out ? What restarted it self (the computer or a program ?)
What do you mean by "sign back", "nothing running" and "have to start all the way over" ?
Please be as specific as possible (and don't use 'it' or 'things')

Ok, i'll try to be more clear, sorry by the way, I was trying to download Warcraft 3 and the installer was a .exe file, i heard wine was the best to use to install .exe and other kinds of file so i open the installer for warcraft with wine, right as the installer started load, the computer rebooted itself and brought me back to the user sign on screen. When i signed back in, no progams where running and everything that i had open was closed out, i had a firefox window running at that time and when i opened up firefox again a message popped up say that the windows were closed out unexpectedly. Is there any way that you can help me out with this problem, or could you just give me instructions on how to install warcraft 3 or any .exe files that i need or could use in the future without it closing out on me while im trying to install it?

You'll find a tutorial on running Warcraft 3 with wine at: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=45407

Feel free to ask again if you experience any problems with that.

Hello Markus, I typed the exact words in Google and found your message about installing Warcraft III on Ubuntu... Problem is, all of it is gibberish to me, I don't know what synaptic is, how to install ANYTHING on Linux or have any clue about how to do any of that. Could you or anybody else go to that link and explain it in a little more detail, I will admit, I used Windows for a long time and I guess I just need to learn Linux. Please help me out, please.
