cannot play vcd in ubuntu 8.04

I have ubuntu 8.04 , When i try to play avseq.dat (vcd) file in my ubuntu ,it shows error .Iam also tried to open with totem movie player,mplayer,vlc media player, but yet shows same error. please help me to solve this

When open with mplayer ,Showing error message is "seek failed" . ( Iam
playing from cdrom)

You can use the mount -a command to mount all file system.
I found this reference:

the command:

dmesg | tail

will give some information about kernel messages

I am trying to play an original Video CD of Michael J's Music and it shows as URI not found in Movie Player and in VLC it shows as Failed.
Please help me with this issue.
