fresh install

After a fresh install of ubuntu 9.04 I do not get an option of systems to launch I selected to install inside of windows but do not get a choice how do I fix this?

Also very slow ,I did a destructive recovery of my pc, Have a 1.5mb connection.

windows is amazinginly faster now But would much rather have ubuntu but my wife seems to need windows. What can I say to that?????
