AFAIK pysdm doesn't work with UUIDs.

I have had success with using MountManager. I believe I downloadeded it from Synapic Manager.

As far as I can see palimpsest cannot manage mount rights to discs, and I was really looking for an 'installed by default' application. Thanks for the answers so far.
