what about driver for graphics cards and such a thing. they even come in on?

Yes they are, you have open source drivers for intel and ati for default, and ofcource for nvidia to, but you can install and restricted driver to from restricted drivers manager!

Heve already tried the Ubuntu live install cd without install it you can try by yourself if it works on your pc, usually it works!

So please try https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Installation simply read the first paragraph to start.

And usually you don't need any external driver to make Ubuntu works it have already all the "driver" built into the kernel or as module.
