can i download kubuntu apps or will they not work

i have ubuntu 9.04 and i was looking for some cool apps but all i can find that i like is for kubuntu so can i download for kubuntu or do i have to find it for ubuntu.let me know if anyone knows or if u know of any good apps for ubuntu 9.04. thanks

Programs written for the KDE desktop (Kubuntu) generally work on the Gnome desktop (ubuntu) as well. Only very few are written in a (let's say) "less clever" way that major features are not working.
By the way: you can also install the full KDE desktop on Ubuntu and choose which you like to run on login. See http://www.psychocats.net/ubuntu/kde for details.
