how can i make an application a desktop item

i cant access my limewire or hulu desktop without running them in the terminal first.actullly its all of my downloads.someone please let me know if there is a way and if so please tell me in lamens terms how to do it thanks.

Go into System > Preference > Main Menu

Look on left side and select Sound & Video and see if Hulu is checked.

You can also right click the desktop and select create launcher. For hulu desktop Name: Hulu Desktop
and Command: huludesktop %F
