rdesktop tsclient cannot install local printer

Asked by stoutimore

I am dualbooting Jaunty and Windows XP. I can use Remote Desktop Connection on the Windows side and have no problems printing on my HP LaserJet 4000 printer. On the Ubuntu side, the connection is a lot faster, but the remote doesn't recognize or let me install the HP printer. How can I get the remote connection to print to my local printer? Also, what is the difference between using rdesktop at the terminal to get the connection, and using Terminal Server Client from the applications menu to get the connection?

I quite don't understand your question... please split it...

Might be you simply need to install the hplip package to make your hp printer working on the same pc with Win + Ubuntu.

Here the hplip related questions and answers that you can read:

Hope this helps
