ubuntu drivers for microsoft life cam v3300

im trying to install my life cam driver ive gotten to this point and extracted to /home/damien/gspcav1-20071224

what do i type to get it to install into terminal and to get this to work

It probably already works without drivers. Install cheese and see if it picks it up.
sudo apt-get install cheese

installed cheeze and it says no camera found, and stickam will not detect the cam either, but the light is on on the web cam all the time , i cant shut it off unless i unplug it from the usb, yet i still cant get it to detect the cam in cheeze or other ubuntu webcam programs

i do however see the cam is listed in my terminal as a life cam? so that part is detecting it

Hmmm try restarting your computer and then use cheese.

done several times, seems odd the cam light would be on all the time ,
