xubuntu

I uninstalled ubuntu and replaced it with xubuntu using the comand I found at this website: http://psychocats.s465.sureserver.com/ubuntu/purexfce but now I nolonger have a loading screen when my computer is starting up and I also don't have a log in sound or any other sounds like notification sounds or button cliked sound or download complete sounds. How do I get those back?

That command isn't supposed to replace ubuntu with xubuntu. That command is for people who have xubuntu to remove ubuntu related packages. The problem with what you did is that you didn't install xubuntu-desktop to install the xubuntu packages before you removed the ubuntu packages.
