unable to uninstall winkeydaemon in ubuntu 8.10

Hi,
I am a new user of ubuntu linux and this is regarding an amateur radio application called winkey. I am unable to uninstall it from the system. used apt-get, dpkg and also synaptic package manager. But I get a error message while removing also tried logging in as root from the recovery startup options but no success. please help me

Hi, to remove a program you need use: sudo apt-get remove package
You need to use "sudo" to sign as root
