Video Servers

Asked by Steve Pendlebury

I hope this is in the right place. If not, I'm sorry.

What I need to do is use Linux as a video server. From a DVD, Camera and can it receive and transmit a stream sent to it over the net? The reason why it has to be linux is that it will be left on, so Windows is OUT!

What software to use? Where is it? What do I type in and where?

My VLC Player will not load and play a DVD. This looks like a problem with Preferences in the machine.

Please help!!!!

Steve Pendlebury
