a software to save all my usernames and passwords of all sites and mail accounts

i have registered in lots of sites and i have for mail accounts with different user names and passwords. sometimes it gets hard to just memorize all these. is there any software with a master password in ubuntu? i was using firefox to store them once, but when i for some reasons lost my ubuntu, i just lost all my IDs and Passwords. i am really looking for a software to store them and then make a backup for bad days. please guide me.

There are a couple. I recommend you KeePassX (opensource, multiplatform, portable, etc).

To install search "keepassx" in Synaptic package-manager or enter line below in a terminal:

sudo apt-get install keepassx

Just another app in security chain? Actually firefox offers already Master password, 'bad days' just need a backup of it's profile.
