I want to install Ubuntu Netbook remix but I am not sure how big it is as my partition is only 2.5 Gb and I am not sure how to partition my hard drive.

The recommended minimum is 6 Go of disk space (https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Installation/SystemRequirements#Netbook%20alternative%20%28Ubuntu%20Netbook%20Remix%29)

You can probably install it on a bit less space if you disable swap memory and remove anything not needed.

You can use the U-lite CD to install the bare essential Ubuntu Linux. You can then run:

sudo apt-get install lxde

and your install will be small and responsive to suit you 2.5Gb space

According to http://u-lite.org/content/requirements the recommended minimum is 4 Go.

Well I have a full Ubuntu install and am using only 3Gb for / so a minimal desktop will be much less.

Could try it in a virtualbox / vm to see the real used space

Can you help with this problem?
