Computer is slower after installling Ubuntu :(

I have installed Ubuntu 32-bit 9 Version and now my computer scrolls slower and computer seems a little slower :(
Any recomendations? I was maybe thinking my refresh rate is up to much or something also. I have new laptop and fast connection.

Can you give us some info about your computer specs: cpu, ram, brand and model of your pc.

4GB HP forgot the ram and its a HP G60 fairly new laptop bought in march of this year. RAM is over 500 i know though. But i figured out the reason why it wasnt going fast my hard drive wasnt running but now it is i had to verify it with Linux.
