Computer doesn't recognize the Live CD as a disc.

Asked by twilight_genesis

I finaly got my Ubuntu 9.04 Live CD in the mail but when I put it in the computer it says there is no disc in the drive.(but audio CDs, DVDs and PSX discs work fine) I can't boot from it because it says there isn't a disc in there.(tried but it just booted windows from the HDD) Yes I've set the boot priority correctly and tried manually telling it to boot from the CD-ROM. The Bios does support booting from CD/DVD. Can someone tell whats wrong or how to get it to work?

Sounds to me like a bad CD. I just finished making a live cd for Fedora Core 11 (with a downloaded ISO file) and had same results with the first 2 attempts. If you can get online, might be better to make them for yourself than wait for it to come in the mail, 'cause it seems to me you are doing everything correctly.

You were right. I downloaded the ISO and burned it to a disc and now it works fine. I now dual boot Ubuntu and Windows XP! thank you
