Need to join a VPN - can't use Network Manager

Asked by Alessandro

Dear All,

I need to join a VPN; I found some guidelines to do it, but it seems that I have to use Network Manager. Since my wifi card doesn't work with Network Manager, I had to install Wi-Cd, so there's no way to use Network Manager for me. Does anybody know how to join a windows vpn without using network manager? Really, anyway: I don't care if I have to use Wine, or virtualbox or whatever...

Thanks a lot :)

"windows vpn" ?
Could you be more specific about what VPN server you're connecting to?

Short answer is Yes , with command line.

Thanks Appiah for your interest.

It's a PPTP network. Anyway, I found a way to join it: using KVpnc. But... for who wants to use it: KVpnc changes your resolv.conf file, and you will not be able to solve any ip. Funny, no? After 19027 hours on google, I fixed this problem renaming resolv.conf in resolv.conf.old and rebooting the system.

Hope it helps.

Bye
