I downloaded Google Earth. Now I want to install the program but I get this: "GoogleEarthLinux.bin No application is known for this kind of file." What am I doing wrong? Thanks.

A .bin package is an executable file.
Open a Terminal (Applications - Accesories - Terminal) and run the .bin executable

./GoogleEarthLinux.bin

*This would be in the you have this .bin installer on your home folder, if you have downloaded to another directory (Ej: Desktop or Downloads) write the proper path.

This will launch the GoogleEarth installer

Go to the place where your download is with terminal.

There you simply type.

sh GoogleEathLinux.bin

Hi :)

There is a much easier way to do all of this. It's not normal to go off hunting around the internet for random things such as "NotAVirusHonest" to download. Please try using one of the Package Managers to help do all of this.

Linux does have very different ways of working and it takes some time to adapt but here's 1 good reason to go with the linux ways
