It depends on several/different problems.

Would you describe in more details please what do you have, what do you want and what did you get unwanted?

Did you burn the disk yourself?

Does it work in another machine?

Did you check the MD5?

If you are new to Linux MANY people have difficulty burning an iso at first. Look at https://help.ubuntu.com/community/BurningIsoHowto

Also follow the general principles from "Top 20 Kubuntu FAQs & Answers " Question #1 at http://kubuntuforums.net/forums/index.php?topic=3099811.0

Can you borrow an external cd/dvd-player and try that? Perhaps the cd/dvd player of another laptop might work?

Sailor

Please can you surf into Launchpad using the links you keep getting from here. Emailing answers doesn't work very well but posting directly into the thread is much easier. Also the Answers Section here can't accept attachments so please copy&paste the whole of whatever you tried to send us directly into the thread itself.

Thanks, apols and regards from
Tom :)
