{SOLVED} Lost Desktop

Asked by skj22306

After a reboot from a very recent OS update, my Ubuntu 22.04 (Jammy), just went into the CLI shell (tty1).

Re-installed the desktop:
1) Sudo apt-get update
2) Sudo apt-get install ubuntu-desktop

However, the computer just sat there with a blank screen for ages, and that's when I did a hard/cold reboot.
PANIC PANIC.

Ubuntu desktop came back online, just like magic.

Thanks..... I guess.... an online research shows that this is a somewhat common occurance with this Linux distro....
hoping for less occurances in future releases....
