Launchpad Timout error: how to fix?

Asked by Uqbar

I cannot file bugs any more since months now.
The lauchpad website says:

Our edge server has a lower timeout threshold than launchpad.net, so we can catch those before they hit a wider audience. As a member of the Launchpad Beta Testers team, you're more likely to experience them. If this is blocking your work, you can disable redirection.

But whatever I do it doesn't work and I get the same error page over and over.
Any hint?

I asked a similar question and was told that it was probably because the summary contained too many interesting key words. The advice that I was given was:-

<<I tried filing a bug with the same summary and also got a time out.

Let me suggest a work-around that may work.

The bug system asks for a summary and then queries the database to see
if anything closely resembles the summary you are entering. It is this
part of the query that is timing out, likely because your summary is
long and contains lots of interesting keywords.

To get around this problem use a short unrelated summary like "xyz". At
the next step choose to file a new bug. On the following page enter the
*real* summary and the bug details.>>

I did this and it worked. I hope that they will alter the launchpad system as blocking "interesting" summaries is clearly undesirable.

I speak as a simple user.
