toshiba G450 phone modem usb

how to setup the mentioned phone to use with a wireless provider - can you tell in steps from start to beginning - the phone's memory is recognized in ubuntu but nothing else appears to me.
 i want to access the internet by that modem and my provider - the provider appears in the database.
most important how to install the driver and where to download it if it does not come with ubuntu?

Your PC is probably experiencing this bug, which exists in Ubuntu 9.04:

Because of this regression, I recommend installing Ubuntu 8.10 from a LiveCD session (to replace Ubuntu 9.04 on your harddisk)

thank you-tried to install 8.10 but my hardware is probably not supported (inUSE:a VIA processor) so it did not install!!!!.... a screenprint of 9.04 at:

wvdial has been installed but how to get the modem recognized? what else i have to install? change what ID?(x2)

what i have to do step by step to get it functioning in 9.04? i read other posts related to toshiba g450 and it seems to be possible to make it functioning in 9.04.

but i need a step by step advice!

anyone can help again - icannot cope with too much information within a single post!
