Hi :)

How many people use your machine? Is it set-up for a lot of different people to use?

Also please could you try to work through all the steps (except the optional one) of this guide
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Medibuntu
Please let us know if any of those steps ended up with a 'failed' warning.

Please let us know how this all goes :)
Good luck and regards from
Tom :)

Was that what you needed? I'm also wondering if there are other possibilities; some of the videos are private if I understand correctly, and you need to "subscribe" to youtube (even if you have already done it in Windows), then you may need to ask the owner for a permission. Also, do you have a parental control system set up on your Ubuntu (via add-ons)? Are you connecting directly via a movie player, and if so which one?

Hi :)

We just asked a couple of questions, do you know answers to these ...

1. Are you the only person that uses the computer or are there other people that also use it?

2. Does this YouTube video work (it has a spoiler so don't look if you haven't seen The Lord of The Rings or read it)

hi :)

Ok, if that YouTube movie worked then Larry's point about "some of the videos are private if I understand correctly, and you need to 'subscribe' to YouTube (even if you have already done it in Windows), then you may need to ask the owner for a permission. Also, do you have a parental control system set up on your Ubuntu (via add-ons)? Are you connecting directly via a movie player, and if so which one?"

So basically i think you need to find how you login to your YouTube account. Your username & password and stuff probably get automatically stored in Windows somewhere so you need to find out your username and password so that you can login to your YouTube account in Ubuntu too.

Good luck with this!
