DNG files always appear tiny

I have a number of DNG files (raw camera files) at 3000x2000 resolution or larger. Gimp and qtpfsgui open them fine.

Almost all other applications show them, but show them tiny (128x96) The list of applications includes kuickshow, digikam, eog, gqview. I think the 128x96 is the preview image, and not the actual image.

How do I get other apps to show the actual image?

OK, fixed digikam. It's got a "full size preview option" ???
