MATLAB

Asked by Mohammad

Hi!
I'm running Ubuntu 24.04 and I could not plot anything in Matlab (R2024b) due to "Low-Level Graphics Issues" as mentioned by Matlab. I tried to install drivers as it was done in: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vnp_WfYETBw&t=15s
Now i get the plots in Matlab but the whole desktop is very zoomed (cannot change it) and it seems that something is wrong.
Can anyone help me?

CPU: Intel i7-7700K (8) @ 4.500GHz
GPU: Intel HD Graphics 630
OS: Ubuntu 24.04.1 LTS x86_64

,regards

Terminal: echo $XDG_SESSION_TYPE
This checks session type. The driver you installed is for X-11.

To get to X-11 Log out, click the password. Notice the Gear icon [bottom right on screen]
Click the icon, select Ubuntu on Xorg -> Login
This will change the session to X-11.
See if it changes the zoomed effect.

Log out and go back to Wayland - On the session Wayland is called Ubuntu.

Click- Show Apps > Click - Software & Updates > Click - Additional Drivers Tab >
Ubuntu will check for drivers for your system automatically.
Install any applicable drivers that are needed.

Terminal: sudo apt update && sudo apt upgrade
-Then-
sudo snap refresh
sudo reboot

How did you install MATLAB ?
Through Ubuntu Repositories ?
If yes, you may need a package called matlab-support.
Distro integration for local MATLAB installations

Ok, but "No additional drivers available" in Software & Updates.

How can I remove the X-11 driver?

I installed it from the MathWorks installer (direct download from MathWorks website), since I have a license via my university.

Can you help with this problem?
