I don´t think you want to remove that package, because it is used for play encrypted DVDs.See https://help.ubuntu.com/community/RestrictedFormats/PlayingDVDs

Yes the libdvdcss2 is used to play commercial DVDs such as movies rented from BlockBuster or other horrible places like that, sometimes from nicer independent movie rental places too.

However, it looks like the particular part of this package that Computer Janitor is threatening to remove seems to be the download package which is stored in a cache. It doesn't seem to be the installed version.

Try it and then perhaps try this command from the Medibuntu page to try reinstalling it to see if Computer Janitor did get rid of it

sudo apt-get install libdvdcss2

Good luck and regards from
Tom :)

PS to get a command-line to type the command onto (or copy&paste with the mouse)

Hi again, it's always wise to check. I think Zvacet's advice here is better than mine but i think it's good to know how to fix something if it does go wrong. So, there we go :)

Well, I think if Janitor remove the installed libdvdcss2 then it can be reinstalled by Synaptic?

prassu, you can find a related information about installed (or not) applications by Synaptic Manager.
Run it by System-->Administration-->Synaptic Manager then click on Search and fill there the name of the application. If it exists in the list it will be shown and if you left-click on it you read the description. If you right-click you can choose an action.
