Since upgrade to 20.04 my screen is stuttering

My screen starts stuttering at times since my upgrade to 20.04.
It starts rapid flashing from my current page for no obvious reason, but eventually settles down.
It seems to be more pronounced when playing solitaire or other simple games, but can happen when I open my e-mail provider.
Is this a bug? and how can it be rectified?
