GNOME Window Snapping without interaction on Microsoft Edge on Ubuntu 24.04

Asked by Quentin Smith

Ubuntu Release: Ubuntu 24.04 LTS
Packages Causing Problems:
 - microsoft-edge-stable (125.0.2535.51-1)
 - gnome-shell (46.0-0ubuntu5.1)

Without warning, GNOME triggers window snapping while using Microsoft Edge. I don't know whether this is a fault of the GNOME Shell, or Microsoft Edge.

This happens at complete random, with little to no predictable method for it to trigger that I know of. This would happen sometimes after I ALT+TAB from WebStorm to Edge, and sometimes not.

After looking at the Logs application when it happened again, the gnome-shell package did spit out something that could have something to do with it, I don't know though, I've attached an IMGUR link to the screenshot to show what it said.
