Unable to use snapshot.ubuntu.com

Asked by Julien Semaan

Hi!

I was using snapshot.ubuntu.com to keep multiple systems up-to-date on the same package versions and it looks like it is now requiring authentication but there are no publications related to this change

Is this a regression? Or is the access to snapshot.ubuntu.com service being changed?

Thanks!

Example:
$ curl https://snapshot.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/20240425T000000Z/dists/jammy-security/InRelease
<!doctype html>
<html lang=en>
<title>401 Unauthorized</title>
<h1>Unauthorized</h1>

This is indeed a regression; we are working on this.

Apologies for any inconvenience.

Will report back once resolved.
