BIOS upgrade from home premium to ultimate for an acer extensa 4420

Asked by K. Northcutt

hi, hopefully you can help me. I recently installed a custom-made windows ultimate to an acer extensa 4420. On the read-me file, its built on Ultimate. Now the computer works just fine, but the only thing is my wireless connector and my bluetooth is disabled. Should i update my BIOS to the one that should be on ultimate.

If the Wireless and bluetooth worked previously, I doubt very much that changing anything in the BIOS will help. Are there switches on the laptop to disable the wireless and bluetooth? Otherwise it is probably a driver issue (we have those in Linux sometimes too). Best off connecting to the internet with an ethernet cable, and looking for the correct drivers for your wireless card and bluetooth.

You may have gotten confusing responses, as you have posted what seems to be a question about Windows on an Answers service for the Ubuntu operating system.

Can you help with this problem?
