Control my PC

Hi,

I have one PC installed and it should run without Keyboard, mouse and screen. But how can I control this pc remote? I know it is possible, but don´t know how.

Hello ,

have a look at System -> Preferences -> Remote Desktop.

Do keep in mind that, if wrongly configured, your computer might be accessible via the internet, which would be a major threat!

I have that configured all ready, but what program do I use to connect
to this PC?

I think you use VNC on the machine you are remotely connecting to this one ;)

HI, it depends on what operating system the remote machine that is going to be connecting to this Ubuntu one is using. Is the remote machine using a Windows or a linux operating system? I think in either case you will need a VNC-client or something similar - TightVnc are very well known?

Ahah, the Ubuntu one is the one that wont be using a keyboard? If so then this is the one that needs the Vnc-Server

This is new to me ( in Linux ). Both PC´s have Linux Ubuntu 9.04. With
my notbook I want to control my PC. What do I install where?

I found out that it´s not needed to install additional software. It´s working now, although the mouse is moving slow on the screen. It´s acceptable.

Yes, I had to install Samba, but that was all. Works great.

I am going to sleep now. I have to travel to Holland tomorrow. Need to
be fit for that trip.
