recovering fiesty

Asked by achapp

Dear ,
I am using fiesty ubuntu on AMD64 . Accidently i ran the disk clean program and ending up deleting some important files . The present status is that I couldnot start up ubuntu normally . How could i recover my earlier state . Is it possible by the recovery console showing up during the boot up menu(recovery mode) . Or is it possible by using an alternate cd . Also let me know from where we can download the alternate cd

Hello,

What is the disk clean program you used ?
Is there any error showing when you boot ?
Did you know what files were removed ?

Try to type this in the recovery console:
sudo apt-get install ubuntu-desktop
