Fiesty 7.04 and Lucent WinModem

I am trying to setup a new Ubuntu 7.04 Workstation for my buisness mainly because i dont want to fool around with my router trying to install stuff on it. Bu my only drawback is that i cant use the modem i have on it. I was able to get it working with Ubuntu 6.06 but this new one i think hates it. Is there anything out there that will (Please) Step-by-Step help me set it up?

I've heard a number of reports that winmodems are very poorly supported in Feisty.
You might be better off switching to Dapper or buying yourself a cheap hardware-driven modem.
