Ubuntu

Loaded ubuntu 6.10 onto toshiba satellite A 80. Worked at first, during parition of hard drive stopped working. Now not booting at all. Black screen. Help please.

The computer does not boot to anything, but the lights are on. Cannot eject dvd. Cannot do anything with the laptop.

Probably a no-brainer for most. With this laptop (perhaps all) if you remove the battery, then replace and reboot it boots back to windows. I am in the process of re-installing ubuntu.

I am trying to load Ubuntu under Windows XP from a CD/DVD. I get the first splash screen and click on the first choice and get a black screen.
