Ubuntu-server-users mailing list

Asked by MatthewMPP on 2009-08-20

This is not a Launchpad question, however, I do not know who else to ask. I would like there to be a mailing list for the Ubuntu server users. This would help people learn and use the server edition and reduce the amount of emails for the desktop users mailing list.

I am a member of the Ubuntu users mailing list and it receives a very high volume of email posts.

Hello Matthew,

I'm assigning this request to Jorge Castro, who normally administers Ubuntu mailing lists.

Hi Matthew,

Please send a mail to <email address hidden> asking for this list. When RT responds to you with a ticket number please email me with the number and I'll look into it. Thanks!

Did it even send you back an automated thing? Usually it''s something
like "We've assigned you ticket foo" or something.

I just forwarded both emails to this Question #80545 that I sent them,
and NO, I did not receive any kind of reply from them!

Ok the system is supposed to send you an email almost right away, but I've noticed in some cases some people don't get the email. Do you have anyone on your team that can send the request to <email address hidden>? I can't really action on something without a ticket.

Jorge,

I'm on Matthew's team, and I've also sent an email to <email address hidden>, but I never got an email response back either. Here's the message I sent:
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
To: <email address hidden>
Subject: REQUEST: ubuntu-server mailing list
Date: Thu, 10 Sep 2009 16:28:21 -0500

To whom it may concern,

I would like there to be a mailing list for the Ubuntu server users.
This would help people learn and use the server edition and reduce the
amount of emails to the desktop users mailing list with server
questions.

Thanks for your help with this issue.

Hi Jorge,

Am I supposed to do something with this link? I logged in and looked
around a little bit, however, I did not see anything that I should just
automatically take-care of.
