Ubuntu Buffer I/O Error during installation

I have Following PC specifications:
Intel P4 2.4 Ghz
Intel D845GVSR
80 GB HDD
When installing ubuntu desktop edition 8.10 through an official CD i have been facing the problem.The install starts and give errors, some thing like that:
[1**.***.***] buffer I/O error................................................................

and its continues until i had to shut down my system.Please help me if somebody knows the solution
