networking connecting on a network

iam new to unbuntu iam istalled today i need help on unbuntu first i connect to a network in windows the system finds the network but in unbuntu it dosent dectected in any way i need help i just a novice on unbuntu

Hi,
you did not provide any specific information about your network - eg. what type (wired/wireless/...) you have. The more information you provide, the bigger chance you get right answer.

ITS Road Runner DSL connection its wired and when i try to run network manager or connection it dosent say nothing its like my internet conection was never there could probaly could matter how i installed unbuntu i installed inside windows could that matter or what thanks
