problem to instal Ubuntu

Can I install Ubuntu on my old pc? It's a MMX with 98Mb Ram and 2 Gb on HD.
I'lll try to install Ubuntu (I choose the iso for not 256 Mb RAM), and when it ask me to reboot, I see only a black screen.

Hello,

Your pc is too old to install Ubuntu.
You should try XUbuntu instead (a light ubuntu):
http://www.xubuntu.org

Even with the standard Xubuntu CD, you need 192Mb of RAM to install.
You have to download the alternate Xubuntu CD which can install XUbuntu with only 64Mb of RAM:
http://cdimages.ubuntu.com/xubuntu/releases/feisty/release/xubuntu-7.04-alternate-i386.iso
