pci wireless card not detected

Asked by Jorge

Hello
My PCI wireless card is not detected, I have wired internet but no wireless.
When I select System->Administration->Windows Wireless Drivers I see:
neti2220
Hardware present: No
(I think I already installed the win drivers from the CD that comes with the card)

And when I select System->Administration->Hardware Drivers I see: No proprietary drivers are in use on this system.

Is it a laptop. If so, is the device enabled in bios? and the killswitch set to on.

If not try rebooting with those settings, if the hardware is known to be present then can you please provide the output of:

dmesg > ~/dmesg.txt; gedit ~/dmesg.txt; rm ~/dmesg.txt

Thanks

Ok nothing that looks intelligent towards wireless. Is this a laptop? If so, what make and model? I see you have a TV card, bluetooth, Mac keyboard and mouse but no wifi.

it is not a laptop it is a desktop so there is no option to turn on -off the wifi.
And yes I also have a TV card

hmm, is it an onboard wifi or a PCI card? You may need to look around the backof your PC.

The wifi is with a PCI card, I am sure it works under windows.
Thank you for follow it.

actionparsnip , when you said you see a TV but no wireless on PCI, I thought it may be a hardware issue, I moved the wireless card to a different PCI slot and it is working now. I am not sure if slot is damaged or was bad inserted but works now, thank you very much.
