My Live CD isn't working.

Asked by Jonathan

Sorry about that. I didn't mean that I wanted to dual-boot my computer before. I simply want to run the latest version of Ubuntu from a Live CD. I have burned it onto a CD-RW and gone into BIOS for my computer to boot from CD/DVD drive whenever the disc is in there, but it just loads windows anyway. Any tips or tricks anyone can offer?

when you install Ubuntu 7.04 after windows you will choose the manual option on the "partition disk" part of the installation process, then the system will see all the HDD you have on your PC if you just have one with lots of free space you resize them into two new prtition, one of them you name " / " with at least 5 gb and the other named "swap" with no more than double the amount of RAM memory in your system.

By the way, it is always advisable that you back up all important data before dealing with an installation

The link above shows how to dual-boot in a graphics mode

Hello,

The first link provided by LC всадник cbet is a link to install Ubuntu Studio (NOT the normal Ubuntu)

The official documentation on how to install Ubuntu on dual boot is here:
