Applications - Edit Menu

Asked by srikumar

I am using Ub 9.04

Right Clicking on Applications brings the drop down list with the Edit Menus. However clicking on the Edit Menus does not bring any response.

How is this to be activated.

thank you

you can edit the system / applications menus if you wish using either alacarte (for gnome) or kmenuedit (kde) i think if you dont have these installed then the command will not run.

The gui is noce however it does hide useful error messages away wich makes dignosis of anything even remotely tricky, difficult.

I'd try downloading alacarte or kmenuedit and installing it. In case you're using ubuntu-gnome (instead of kubuntu-kde), download alacarte here:
http://packages.ubuntu.com/jaunty/alacarte
Hope this helps

Thanks gadolinio & actionparsnip
I have re-installed alacarte through Synaptic and now the Edit Menus is working.

Thank you very much
