Problem installing gdesklets - gdesklets should depend on python2.5 - fails to start with Could not launch 'gDesklets' - error: bash: /usr/bin/gdesklets: /usr/bin/python2.5: bad interpreter: No such file or directory

Asked by Walther Seidel

I am trying to install gdesklets and when it's configuring this appears:

Configurando gdesklets (0.36-5ubuntu1) ...
GCONF_CONFIG_SOURCE=
/usr/lib/gdesklets/sensor/Sensor.py:82: SyntaxWarning: assertion is always true, perhaps remove parentheses?
assert(self.__id, "The ID is invalid in the constructor.")

the other packages it's well configured, and afther that when i try to launch gdesklets i have this problem:

waseidel@waseidel:~$ gdesklets
bash: /usr/bin/gdesklets: /usr/bin/python2.5: intérprete incorrecto: No existe el fichero ó directorio

and i can't use gdesklets

Hi,

Please try this solution:

https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gdesklets/+bug/384550

So please install python2.5

Then try running gdesklets again.

Regards,

Mark
