can not get conected to the internet

I am using a dell inspiron and it has a 8100 with unbuto 9.4.

The problem I am having is that I can not connect to the internet using my Linksys ethernet card and i can no longer conect to the modem usuing a hard wire because it throws my whole network off.

Hi Franco,

First, open your terminal program (Applications > Accessories > Terminal), then paste the output of this command:
$ sudo lspci -vv | grep Network

It will show you the type of your Network Controller.

Hi franco,

Hmm.. you cannot connect to the internet using Linksys ethernet card, can you? From the output of lspci command above, there're already two ethernet cards. Would you explain to me, why are two ethernet cards on your laptop? Have you try to release one of them, then try to use it to connect to the internet?
