It's good to order some for friends too at the same time ;) The linux world tends to be a bit more friendly like this :)

With the cd that you have got could you try booting up from it. Hopefully it will get you to a menu with "Try Ubuntu without changes to this machine" as the top option. If not this guide might help
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/BootFromCD
Choosing the option "Try Ubuntu ..." should get you to a working desktop which we call a "LiveCd session". Also the firefox on the top taskbar should be able to get you into here.

Please let us know if this works as it might give us more options
Good luck and regards from
Tom :)

I still think it's worth ordering a few free cds because even if we do get this one doing something useful then at least you'll be able to give a cd or two to someone else and perhaps give someone else the chance to try Ubuntu ;)

Hi Samarth Kumar,

You can order as many CD's as you want. Its better to order more than one CD because if one of the CD is not working then you can try the other one. But generally most of them won't have any problems. Plus you can also distribute them to your friend and help the Ubuntu Community by spreading Ubuntu.

Can you help with this problem?
