Frequently repeating ata error messages

Dear friends,

I've error messages repeating about three times per second, which is eating up my HDD constantly.

What can I do about this, please?

I've reported this in bug #401339.

Have you fsck'd the partition? You could download the testing app from the drive manufacturers site (or use the ultimate boot cd) to test the drive physically.

I think that this message doesn't have to do with a specific partition.

I agree with actionparsnip. Do a scan to your HD with a disk tool that has serface scan etc...
