Unable to Play MP3s using Amarok 2

Asked by yummi1986

Hi Everyone,
I'm new to Ubuntu (yay, me!) but I'm a noob with all this computer talk. I'm trying to sync my ipod to Amarok 2 but found a few problems. I don't know if I have the proper devices installed either.

*When I tried playing my MP3s, it gives me an error : "Too many errors encountered in playlist." How am I supposed to play my music?

*How do I sync my ipod to Amarok 2? When I connect my ipod to my laptop, it shows that it's mounted on my desktop. How do I transfer music into my ipod? I need no non sense directions. I read a few forums stating that I needed to install ligbpod in order to do so. Is this correct?

Thanks for all your help

Hi try going to System>Administration>synaptic package manager and do a search for ubuntu restricted extras this should allow you to play mp3's. I'm not sure if ligbpod is in there or not, but there is a program called ipod I guess I would start there. I'm kind of a newb too so these are only suggestions. I have installed tons of programs through synaptic and the worst thing I've had happen is the program doesn't work (more likely I didn't know how to use it). If you don't like a program just use synaptic and remove it. Hope this helps !

hi myself a newb , just try installing 'audacious' from synaptic package manager, that could play your mp3 files

Can you help with this problem?
